Diving into a Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have encountered numerous entertaining indie games. However, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure includes a hero that is actually a turd attempting to make its way to a commode. For those curious, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: you only need a jump control. In 150 stages, encounter boss fights and access a shop to buy outfits for your poop character.

Plan your jumps precisely, since one wrong move means beginning again. Jump on bubbles to hurl your character upward, cross disappearing surfaces, and touch buttons to reveal secret routes. Collect UN-KOINS and use them on more difficult stages where things intensifies.

Graphically, the demo features vibrant level designs and an amazing soundtrack. The simple graphics featuring shifting basic polygons could recall players of classic titles like Earthbound.

Although difficult to recall similar titles where you play as a piece of feces, interactive entertainment frequently featured fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, players make explosives from protagonist excrement. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, this theme appears a lot in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its silly concept, Unko Technica has already garnered significant accolades, such as being named best at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. The demo is ready currently on Steam, with the final release scheduled to launch on PC in the fall.
